I wonder, if I find the Fountain of Youth, can I get a refund on my life insurance? Same concept, really. ;)

What did you mean by nope? All I said is that when he's doing his demos that he's been using the ATI9700. Also what do you mean that they wish they would switch to RDRam or at least DDR? DDR400 due out by early next year shows a significant advantage over the fastest RDRam which is technically maxed at the moment. Not to mention the insane licensing fees that RDRam has.

thanks for the great advice,
my requirements is a tripod I can hike around, though most of the time I will be operating out of my car. Still I am planning on hiking mount St Helens this year amongst other hikes, so I do not want anything to heavy to haul 4750 vertical ft over 4 miles up (then reverse this down). jabot, I will look into the Gitzo GT-2531 for legs, as for the head, I will look at the 2 mentioned below
Really Right Stuff BH-40

thank you once again
as for other information on my equipment, I currently am using a Canon 500D/T1i, with kit lens. My next purchase will be a 7D, I did want to venture into the 5D2 but I am going to stick with the EF-S lenses for most of my shooting. I am not a professional. My next lens purchase will be EF-s 10-22mm.

Sell it to me.
I'm selling an XBox over in the Marketplace forum, complete with keyboard/mouse adaptor, two wireless controllers, a wired controller, and a USB cable so you can mod the thing if that's what you want! Plus standard and component cabling. How can you go wrong?

What about using a gigabit connected NAS instead? Faster even than FW800, and you can now put it anywhere in your house, instead of having to have it in the same room.

I have the Apple bumper with no screen protector, has no scratches on the screen but I keep my keys and phone separate. The back has a carbon fibre back on, imagine that would be the same if it had no cover on it too.

keep the machine...You will never be able to keep up with technology, its always changing. You could be waiting for upgrades that don't happen for a long time, so don't risk it, just use the FAST machine you have now.

perfect browser for almost all of my browsing, and on the rare occasion safari.
I hate safari for what it's worth. though I wish Apple would allow other browsers to use the autofill feature.

I know that it would offer great savings if you can preserve the life of your battery and you can start by unplugging the cable when it is fully charged and waiting for it to drain before recharging it.

Thanks for the replies!
Rest assured, my computer has been off and upside down for the past 51 hours, and I don't plan on trying to turn it on for at least another 9 hours or so, if not much longer.
My BF suggested the sun/window because he knows I only get sun hitting my window until like 11am - besides, I live in England... it's hardly roasting :P It hasn't actually been sunny since Sunday morning. Right now the computer is alternating between laying keyboard down on a towel with the screen hanging off my desk, and being in an A shape in the airing cupboard. It's safe.
Do any of you know what actually causes a Mac to freeze up like that? In all my 3 years of owning my laptop I've never seen it freeze relentlessly for hours on end. Hmm.

Since 10.6.4 I've experienced...Aperture 3 freezes and beach balls
AMEN. Aperture 3 is an unusable wreck. And it wasn't just the 10.6.4 update. It wasn't even close to being ready for prime-time when it was released. Any image over 10MP results in app-crashing beach balls when using the rotate tool (almost 100% of the time), even on the newest MBP. Over 10MP in RAW...forget it altogether in my experience.

Sounds like you have a satisfactory solution. Please post back here when you post your video. I'm curious to see it. :)

hi all i bought a win 7 family pack home premium and i used the 3 user license to install win 7 on my mbp, imac, and a pc i have
if i remove it from one of the computers can i install win 7 on another computer or once its installed on a computer is it locked to that system?
i ask because i am getting rid of my pc for a custom build
IIRC Family Pack is three retail upgrade licenses. In that case it should work out fine, though you may have to call MS to activate.

With Lion coming out, where do you think Apple will go for with naming the next release of OSX? Lion is pretty much the king cat, so I think they'll move onto a different naming convention entirely. Possibly next release will be OSX 11 and a whole new family. What do you think?

Hi ladies and Gents,
I'm having a bit of a nightmare with dreamweaver/ftp syncing.basically i want to create a root folder that means all the links in dream weaver work as soon as i upload them (im currently having to put full urls in for the links)
on my hardrive i have folder called alexgodden.com and this mimics (exactly) what i have hosted in public_html (minus the sub domains that are in my public_html folder). however the links never work.
can anyone help me out with fixing the root folder so he links are correct first time.... many thanks

Hi, is there a utility or terminal command that allows you to see the lookup/info about a user on your network? Thanks

My fave traditional RPG is Golden Sun 1 and 2. Not my genre really so the simple play mechanics sorta helped.
